India-Scotland Leadership Summit - Dr. Pratibha Verma

At the India-Scotland Leadership Summit last week, organised by the Indian National Students Association (INSA) UK, Dr. Pratibha Verma moderated the 'From Education to Meaningful Contribution' Panel as a INSA representative.

"The consensus from the panel was that the transition from education to the workforce isn't just about technical skills, it’s about mastering the 'unwritten rules' of the Scottish boardroom. From navigating AI’s impact on entry-level roles to fostering 'Scottish Grit' and resilience, the focus for 2026 is moving beyond just hiring talent to empowering the next generation of industry leaders and job creators."

Pratibha found the session incredibly insightful, particularly regarding the future of the Scottish workforce and the evolving leadership pipeline.

The event was attended by Mr. Ben Macpherson MSP (Minister for Higher and Further Education), Sue Webber MSP, and Mr. Siddharth Malik (Consul General of India).

Pratibha moderated a discussion with senior leaders from Scotland’s top five universities: Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, Stirling, and Edinburgh Napier:

  • Prof Sue Rigby Principal and Vice Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University
  • Prof. Naville Wylie Senior Deputy Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Stirling
  • Prof Brad Mackay Deputy Principal and Vice Principal for International Strategy at the University of St Andrews
  • Prof Moyra Boland Dean for Global Engagement in Central and South Asia at the University of Glasgow
  • Dr Cristian Yeomans Director of Global Engagement at the University of Edinburgh
  • Puneet Dwivedi MBE INSA PR Head & Civil Servant
